Ten Cent Adventures Options Fatty Arbuckle Biography

Ten Cent Adventures has optioned film and television rights to Stuart Odeman's biography of Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle: A Biography of the Silent Film Comedian. "Arbuckle's story is one of the most tragic and revealing in film history," says producer and Ten Cent Adventures founder Paul Fischer, "Stuart's biography is one of the best-researched you can find, and it captures Arbuckle's life in a dramatic and very cinematic way, and the cast of characters includes not only Arbuckle but people like Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, and the book explored the relationships they all had as they became, literally, the first movie stars. It also deals with a lot of themes that are relevant today about divisions in the United States and the country's struggle with the way it sees itself."

Oderman's book will be adapted into a standalone movie for cinemas or television, and talent will be attached in the coming weeks. Studart Odeman has also written books about Lillian Gish and Keystone Comedy. His biography of Arbuckle was called on publication "fascinating... invaluable" and "vivid".

Ten Cent Adventures was founded in London in March 2008 and had produced several short films. The company is currently in post-production on the feature documentary Radioman.
